March 6th<\/strong> 2024, Heath from Bigfoot Excavations<\/a> started us off! Its just starting the driveway to the new house site but its beyond exciting to actually have a physical sign that things are finally moving. Heath has been so patient with the my Dad and I peeking around and taking a million pictures while he moves dirt around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He’s gone down a foot or more to hit firm soil, then has been filling and packing with recycled concrete to make a driveway bed strong enough to hold up to all the big equipment that will be involved in the process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

March 10th<\/strong> 2024, we had a little groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate. It was cold and drizzly but Lisa brought a golden shovel and we all celebrated with chocolate cake and champagne! All of these people have been so supportive and patient listening to us talk about this project what feel like non-stop for three years. So grateful they came out to celebrate with us. I love my little pod <3 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

March 15th<\/strong> 2024, The house site is about half dug out at this point. We have had way too much fun scrambling around down in the pit, looking at the layers of silt sand and rocks deposited over who knows how long from the hillside above. Really highlights the reason we need this extra burly foundation. As much as it has made the project slower and more expensive I know we’ll sleep better knowing the house will stay put it the creek decides to misbehave.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
